DR. CHRISTOPHER STANLEY

Position: Population Health Clinical Leader

Dr. Christopher Stanley, MD, MBA, serves the Advisory Board as the Population Health Clinical Leader and until February of 2017, was the Vice President for Population Health at Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), a faith-based, non-profit hospital and physician system with facilities in 18 states. He was responsible for developing and overseeing population health activities which include both network development as well as care management activities in the communities where CHI has hospitals and affiliated physicians. Dr. Stanley also served as the Chief Medical Officer for CHI’s employee benefit plan and worked with CHI’s health plan operations across several states.

Dr. Stanley has directly led and integrated data analytic, care redesign (inpatient and ambulatory) and patient-centered processes in support of 12 Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) under CMS’ Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP). Additionally, he has been a clinical leader for CHI’s participation in the Bundled Payment for Care Improvement (BPCI) program and other episode-of-care programs in over 30 facilities as well as an innovative program for CHI’s employees that includes pay-for-value components.

Dr. Stanley brings to this position over 25 years of health care experience, including eight years with UnitedHealthcare in the Rocky Mountain Region as Chief Medical Officer. He previously served as director of medical science liaisons for Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Stanley is a pediatrician who practiced inpatient and outpatient medicine for more than 9 years in Germany and Denver.

In addition, Dr. Stanley holds, or has recently held, leadership positions with several nonprofit and professional organizations, including the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization (CORHIO), the American Lung Association in Colorado, Health TeamWorks  and the American Diabetes Association. He was appointed by the Governor of Colorado in 2011 to the Colorado State Board of Health where he served from 2011-2017.

Dr. Stanley holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in chemistry from Missouri State University, a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a Master’s of Business Administration degree from the University of Colorado.

DAVE C. PECORARO

Position: Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer SCL Health System

David C. Pecoraro currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for the SCL Health System, Broomfield, Colorado, with responsibilities for corporate wide Information Systems and Technology and Healthcare Information Management. Prior to the merger of SCL Health and Exempla Healthcare in July, 2010, David was the Senior Vice President and CIO for Exempla Healthcare since March, 2006.  In that role, he had responsibility for Information Technology and Services, Materials Management- Supply Chain, Quality and Decision Support, and Health Information Management. SCL Health is a $ 2.5 billion-dollar health care system with 9 hospitals, 100 clinics, and over 550 employed medical providers. Dave directs a staff of 800 multidisciplinary associates including physicians, adjunct clinicians, and IT professionals across corporate offices and care sites within his areas of responsibility.

During his career, Dave has led the installation and management of a broad variety of healthcare information systems including ERP systems, revenue cycle, clinical applications; Lab, Pharmacy, Cardiology, Medical Imaging and numerous EMR’s ranging between GE, McKesson, Siemen’s, and Epic. Prior to IT leadership in 1985, his primary focus was in the area of systems and process engineering and workflow design. In Dave’s most recent post, he led the rapid deployment and implementation of Epic across SCL Health System’s hospitals and clinics with over 10 years’ experience with Epic.

Dave moved to the Denver, CO. area in 2006 after serving as the Vice president and CIO for Jewish Hospital Healthcare Services of Louisville, KY for 24 years. Prior appointments included Director of Management Services at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Chief Industrial Engineer for Kaiser Foundation Hospitals/Permanente Medical Group of Southern Calif, and Director of Management Engineering for Appalachian Regional Hospitals of Lexington, KY.

Dave holds a BS degree in Industrial Engineering/Human Factors from West Virginia University and an MS degree in Systems Sciences and Healthcare Administration from the University of Louisville. He is the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award, the Graduate Dean’s Citation, the Wallace Spradling Award for Superior Scholarship, and is a member of the National Graduate Honor Society – Phi Kappa Phi. During 1985 – 1988, he served as an Adjunct Instructor at the Graduate School of the College of Urban and Public Affairs at the University of Louisville.

Dave and his wife Denise reside in Evergreen, Colorado and have raised 6 children. Dave’s interests include travel, digital photography, and he is an amateur musician.

Position: Chief Information Officer District Medical Group

Jeff is an experienced Healthcare IT Executive with over 20 years of experience leveraging the use of technology to meet the needs of Healthcare Organizations in the Acute Care, Academic, Public and Ambulatory domains. He brings with him a wealth of experience in leading teams in the implementation and support of multiple vendor EMRs, Vendor Neutral Archives, Medical Imaging Systems, Ancillary Clinical Systems, Perioperative Systems, Supply Chain Management Systems, Solution Design and Disparate System Integration.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ramapo College of New Jersey and is a Certified Professional in Health Information Management Systems and is a Certified Healthcare CIO. He has been an active member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society for over 20 years where he currently serves on the board of the Arizona state chapter as Director of Health Information Exchange, Interoperability, Privacy and Security. Jeff is also a member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, also known as CHIME. Jeff serves on the Arizona Health-e Connection Board of Directors, which is a statewide non-profit organization driving the adoption and optimization of health information technology and health information exchange.
